Rachel Ann Hartshorn
I create for the sake of sanity.
In my adult life I have been searching for balance and health. This is something I seek in areas of my emotional, physical and psychological health, as well as in the work I create. I believe the subconscious holds much power and guidance, and I often try to tap into my intuition. I look for balance in color, shape, design, and movement.
I believe that creating a sense of harmony within my work also creates a sense of peace within my spirit. I prefer to explore through collage, drawing, and embroidery studies. I hope to reflect and inspire viewers just as I am constantly inspired by nature, time, life and it’s balance.
I received my BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design in 2011 and currently reside in Chicago, IL.
